Social Media Community Manager: Internship

The Role:
We are currently looking for an intern to support the social media team.  The Community Manager intern will assist in the creation, implementation, and day-to-day management of our social media communities and fan engagement to ensure vibrant, engaging, and rewarding communities. This role will assist in research, analysis, editorial, management of social media presence, and other tasks identified by the Directors.

The Community Manager will be a highly motivated individual with a fanatical passion for social media and community, technology, social media trends, and innovation in the digital and social space.

Main Responsibilities:

Setup : Initial setup of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr) and other social media platforms), coordinating creative executions for landing pages, default graphics, and other elements within the communities.

Social Media Strategy: Understanding our objectives and the ability to craft custom, effective strategic plans to meet goals. Crafting syndication schedules, tone and messaging guidelines, and other general social media outreach initiatives.

Community Management: Day-to-day community management, audience engagement, page and content moderation, and general outreach.

Content Seeding: Seeding approved content and editorial pieces to key influencers and other identified sites and blogs.

Research: Basic research as needed, in order to engage the community and to investigate any trending activities.

Technology:  Being able to use applications used for community management, research and Marketing Intelligence, as well as staying current with new technological trends within the Social Media space.

Analysis: Taking data from research and performance analytics and being able to help create reports that draw conclusions on performance and provide recommendations for campaign optimisation.

Brainstorms: Being involved with team brainstorms to help craft Social Media & Social PR campaigns

Proposals: Being able to assist with, and write proposals as needed.

General Requirements:

  • A thorough understanding of Social Media and outreach tactics
  • A degree or further education qualifications in New Media / Digital Marketing are highly desired
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills
  • Able to verbally articulate analysis and research concepts to the team
  • Available full time for a minimum of 6 months from January 2012.

This is an unpaid full time internship, however travel will be covered (for in and around the London area) & you will receive training plus networking opportunities throughout your internship… Recent Kdot interns have gone onto to paid positions at Ministry of Sound (record label), The Guardian, Universal Music and Primary Talent or have been hired to the Kdot team! There is potential for this role to turn into a full time paid position.
