Kate Brockhurst

Kate founded Kdot in 2007. Always an entrepreneur, Kate’s first business was at the tender age of 3, when she had a blossoming business selling wild flowers to her teddy bears. Since then she went on to launch a social networking site at Leeds University called Leeds Graduate. From Uni she followed the yellow brick road to London where she worked for Form Design and with that the first TV Talent show Popstars which launched Hear’Say.
Kate really began her music industry career aged 22 as PA to former Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce at his Sony BMG dance imprint NuLife. Kate then went onto Wise Buddah as a Talent Manager to head up the urban specialist and club roster which included MOBO Award winning DJs Shortee Blitz & Manny Norte, BBC 1xtra’s Ronnie Herel and Choice FM’s The Firin’ Squad. Kate also conceived and produced the Firin’ Squad Unsigned Podcast which won her a Gold Sony Award for Best Internet Programme.
Summer 2007, Kate left for Ibiza to co-produce and present the We Love Ibiza podcast for We Love Sundays at Space which has had a monumental 2.5 million downloads to date. While in Ibiza she also worked for Eden Nightclub and dance promotions company Hyperactive.
On returning from Ibiza, Kate set up Kdot Online. Starting out for the first year managing MC Harvey, Kate has made up for lost time now looking after a whole roster of new and exciting artists. Kate recently made it to the finals of Young UK Music Entrepreneur 2010 for the British Council and was a judge for the 2010 Sony Radio Academy Awards. Bookings Co-Ordinator / PA to Kate
Lucinda joined Kdot late 2009 as our resident intern and bookings assistant- now a permanent fixture and our very own bookings co-ordinator – Lucinda so happy to be on board that she even agreed to be in charge of feeding the goldfish! Lucinda has a love of all things dubstep and has worked for the O2 among other venues on her journey to work in the music industry.
