Singer / Songwriter / Producer Leo, aka Leo The Lion grew up in South London and has been performing ever since he can remember. A student of the BRIT School of Performing Arts which has helped along the talents of Amy Winehouse, Katie Melua, Adele, Imogen Heap and The Feeling, to name but a few.
Recording songs with Mike Skinner for The Streets albums, ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ and ‘The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living’ Leo received acclaim and success with both albums reaching Number 1 in the UK album charts and selling over 5 million copies worldwide. Leo accompanied Mike and toured for 4 years, performing all over the World to sold out concerts in the UK, US, Australia and countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Leo is a regular face on TV, with countless performances with The Streets, which included ‘Top Of The Pops’, ‘CDUK’, ‘The David Letterman Show’, ‘Jonathan Ross’, ‘Jools Holland’ and a live performance at ‘The BRIT Awards’ in 2006. They also headlined many festivals including V Festival and Reading.
Leo featured on the Kano single Nite Nite that became a nationwide anthem and that year was one of the most played videos on MTV.
Leo was a participant in ITV1’s dramatic hit ‘Love Island’ (2006) and appeared regularly on the sister show ‘Aftersun’ on ITV2. Leo also took part in ‘The Match 2006’ for Sky One, where celebrities played football against legends such as Ian Rush & Paul Gascoigne and as always up for a challenge took to the stand on a celebrity ‘Weakest Link’ with Anne Robinson.
In his spare time Leo DJ’s across UK and Europe spinning the decks, playing Funky House /R&B/Garage and Electro. Leo also loves acting and is currently writing a musical for the West End.
Leo has just recorded the male answer back to Crazy Cousinz Funky House summer anthem “Do you Mind” which should be out September 09. He has completed writing and recording his long awaiting debut solo album, to be released in early 2009 that will be launched with the first single ‘Indecent Proposal’ (The Umba Lumba Song). Look forward to remixes from Crazy Cousinz, Tj Cases and Agent X.
